Donation Opportunities

Each fund is dedicated to the purposes described. Your contributions may be designated to honor or memorialize, to celebrate an occasion, or to support special projects. All contributions are appreciated and appropriately acknowledged.

Archives Preservation Project - to gather and preserve the documentary history of Temple Emanuel

Book of the Century - help to defray costs of this special project

Brad Starr Memorial Campership
- initiated at the untimely death of Bradley Jay Starr by his parents, Nina Starr-Cohen and Bill Starr, to help fund camperships to various summer camps

Capital Improvement (Building) - for current maintenance, repairs, and future building projects

Cemetery Beautification - to maintain landscaping and to expand the Greensboro Hebrew cemetery

Cemetery Perpetual Care Endowment Fund - when fully funded, the earnings will be used to maintain and beautify the Hebrew Cemetery into perpetuity

Centennial - to support events planned for our centennial year

Chesed (Caring Community) - to help facilitate the performance of caring deeds on behalf of all members and families in our congregation

Educational Endowment -

Friendship Circle - to help support the activities of the Friendship Circle Senior Adults Group

General Operations - to supplement the Temple budget

General Endowment -

Jefferson Campus Endowment– for the maintenance and care of the Jefferson Road Campus

Julius E. and Fannie Susman Love Memorial - established in memory of Julius and Fannie Love to purchase religious books for the Sanctuary

Kate S. and Charles Pearl Music - in memory of Kate and Charles Pearl, begun by their daughters, to support the work of the Music Committee

Library - to purchase books for the Temple Library

Mabel Baach Organ Restoration - in memory of Mabel Baach, to maintain our organ at the Greene St. campus

March of the Living - to provide scholarship money for students to participate

Michael Winepol Israel Experience - in memory of Michael Winepol, to provide scholarship funds to students who want to attend Young Judaea Year Course in Israel, established by Rhoda, Jay and Ray Winepol. 

Mitzvah Day - to help support the costs of making this day a success for our community

Oneg Shabbat
- to ensure that there will be refreshments after Shabbat services

Prayer Book - to purchase prayer books for Shabbat or the High Holy Days (these books may be inscribed in honor or memory of someone or with the donor’s name)

Pulpit Flowers - to ensure that fresh flowers will be on the bima for Shabbat services

Rabbi’s Discretionary - to support important community and individual needs at the rabbi’s discretion that are not already supported by the General Fund - there is a fund for each of our rabbis

Religious School - to support special needs and activities of the Religious School

Rosh Hodesh:  It's A Girl Thing! - provides funds to train facilitators and buy supplies for the program

Celia, Leo & Sarah Jill Goldfarb Memorial (PreSchool) - initiated in memory of Sarah Jill Goldfarb, granddaughter of Celia and Leo Goldfarb, to help provide equipment and other needs of the PreSchool

Social Action - to support social action programs and initiatives 

The Temple (Greene Street) – to support Temple Emanuel’s historic sanctuary on Greene Street
