Temple Emanuel's third-annual Juneteenth Shabbat service will focus on the story of Leonard Guyes and the work he did in the months during and after the Woolworth sit-in.z"l
Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans. It is also often observed for celebrating African-American culture. Originating in Galveston, Texas, it has been celebrated annually on June 19 in various parts of the United States since 1865.
*** For indoor services, everyone attending must be fully vaccinated against Covid19. Effective April 1, masks are optional inside the Temple for Friday night services.
, and all who attend must attest to the fact they have been vaccinated. The sanctuary has enough room to allow for physical distancing.Reservations are required
